Position Overview

Punjab’s Literacy & Non-Formal Education Department is currently accepting online applications for Potential Teachers (Phase-I) for Adult Literacy Centers. The recruitment drive is open to males, females, and transgender individuals, ensuring equal opportunities for all segments of society.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age Limit: 18 to 55 years

  • Gender: Open for Male, Female, and Transgender applicants

  • Qualification: Minimum Matriculation (with at least 50% marks) or FA/Graduate.

     Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Computer Science.

  • Domicile: Applicant must be from Punjab.

  • CNIC: Must possess a valid Computerized National Identity Card.

  • Remuneration: Payment shall be made as per the approved PC-I policy.

Terms & Conditions

This opportunity is designed as a part-time, time-bound, and contract-based engagement. The tenure will be six months only, and it will not be extendable.

Teachers will be assigned to literacy centers located within their District, Tehsil, or Union Council, depending on the department’s requirements and proximity of applicants’ residences.

Selected candidates must demonstrate commitment, punctuality, and discipline in their teaching approach. They will also be required to complete and submit all registration documentation according to departmental guidelines.

After selection, each teacher will be required to register a group of 25 to 30 adult learners and record their details in the NFE MIS portal under the supervision of the concerned Literacy Mobilizer.

Responsibilities of Selected Teachers

  • Conduct literacy classes according to the department’s designed curriculum.

  • Maintain attendance records, performance reports, and learning assessments.

  • Ensure a safe, motivating, and respectful environment for adult learners.

  • Encourage learners to continue their education beyond basic literacy.

  • Participate in periodic review meetings and departmental training sessions.

  • Report progress and data using the official online literacy management system.
